Winemaker Brad Hickey, aka Brash Higgins, and vigneron Nicole Thorpe grow McLaren Vale Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Nero d’Avola on their organic 17-acre Omensetter Vineyard. They also source delicious fruit from other vineyards they admire. Brash is a fan of nominal meddling in the winery and slower macerations in small open fermenters, local amphora or non-combative oak. This approach leads to an array of different wine styles with greater texture, integrated tannin, open perfumes, and savoury/umami qualities interlaced throughout.

The wine

Brash Higgins produce minimal intervention wines, drawing on both natural and traditional techniques. We seek to capture the essence of McLaren Vale’s sun and soil, the elusive characters of the fruit, and the whims of our own restless muse. Welcome to South Australia.
